Here are a few photos of gulls that I took at Well's beach the other day. Now that I have a decent camera I am working on learning how to use it and on improving my photography skills - these are some of the better gull shots from the many I took the other day at Wells.

Maine State Museum - Augusta, ME
Today we were in Augusta for a Dr.'s appointment so we decided to go to the Maine State Museum when we finished up. The museum is located adjacent to the Capitol building and turned out to be quite impressive. Flash photography wasn't allowed so I did the best I could with the pictures. The museum consists of 4 floors of displays, artifacts, etc.- the pictures below don't scratch the surface of what was there nor do they do the displays justice. This is a great museum.
The Capitol Building - completed in 1832
The Lion is a steam engine and tender built in 1846 for use on a Maine logging railroad. It is the oldest known American-built locomotive in New England. The restoration on this is amazing - the engine and tender are in exceptional condition.
Bullwinkle (they also had a flying squirrel -couldn't get a pic)
The Lombard Log Hauler - also an impressive piece of machinery.
Locked moose antlers - see next pic for description

Mountain Division Trail - South Windham, ME
It was a rainy morning so we didn't do much today. We had to go to Windham, Me for some business so we found a trail in South Windham we could walk. We intended to walk the "Mountain Division Trail" but we went South from our starting point rather than North and ended up on a part of the "Sebago To The Sea" trail. We went about two miles before we turned around to do the other trail so we had already been 4 miles before we started on our intended trail. This was a nice trail but there wasn't much to photograph.
Part of the Sebago To The Sea Trail
The trail follows Black Brook, a tributary of the Presumpscot River, for a while.
Darby spotted a chipmunk.
We made sure to stay on the trail.
Finally back on the trail we originally intended to walk.
